A note from the field

Let’s compare notes.

Have a surveying story to share, a question about something you’ve read here, or a correction worth making? I’d enjoy hearing from you.

The Lost Surveyor follows the people, places, maps, and tools that make surveying such an interesting way to see the world. If you’ve come across an old instrument, a curious boundary, a remarkable map, or a topic you’d like to see covered, send it my way.

A good story starts with a conversation.

I read messages personally. Between fieldwork and writing, a reply may take a little time, but thoughtful questions, useful corrections, and good stories are always welcome.

Thanks for stopping by.
