The Nile Valley: Including Egypt, Nubia, Uganda, Abyssinia, British East Africa, and Somali Land. Edward Stanford Ltd. Library of Congress, Geography and Map Division, G8202.N5 1910 .E3; LCCN 2009580104.
Catalog notes
Stanford’s map follows the Nile system from the equatorial lakes to the Mediterranean, placing its tributaries, settlements, railways, and neighboring regions in one view. Color and boundary lines also preserve the political geography of the colonial era. Its river-basin scale makes it a useful companion to more local exploration surveys, while showing how commercial atlases combined physical geography with transport and imperial administration.
