Catalog notes

Sixty manuscript sheets radiate outward from the North Pole in Urbano Monte’s ambitious world map. This digital composite brings the separate sheets together with the diagrams and legends intended for its corners. The result rewards both a distant view of its unusual arrangement and close inspection of individual details. It is an especially good candidate for deep zoom, provided the repository clearly distinguishes the sixteenth-century manuscript from its modern digital assembly.
