Catalog notes
Woodbridge’s chart organizes the world around temperature rather than political borders. Dotted isothermal lines connect places with equal average warmth, and color separates climatic regions associated with different productions of the earth. Published for a school atlas, the sheet shows how a relatively abstract scientific relationship could be made legible to students. Its dated observations should be read as historical evidence, not a modern climate baseline.
