Catalog notes
Street-by-street colors make social differences visible across northwestern London in this later edition of Charles Booth’s poverty mapping. The sheet brings together neighborhoods around Hampstead, Camden Town and Regent’s Park, showing how sharply conditions could vary over a short walk. It is included as a landmark of social mapping, while its classifications must be read as historical judgments shaped by the investigators’ assumptions rather than neutral descriptions of residents.
