Catalog notes

The Tampa Board of Trade’s street map combines a detailed urban reference with a distinctly promotional title. Roads, railroads, waterways, and a street index offer practical information, while the claim in the heading tells us something about the map’s civic purpose. It belongs beside the earlier township map as a different way of presenting Tampa: not simply as land and ownership, but as a city advertising itself.
