Catalog notes

Historic sites, roads, and universities are brought together on this American Automobile Association map. Instead of offering only a route from one town to another, it invites travelers to organize a journey around places considered significant. Its interest today lies partly in that selection: a historical map of this kind is also a record of which stories an earlier generation chose to put before visitors.
