Catalog notes

Six Apollo-era geological maps were brought into one consistent global framework and adjusted using newer lunar data. The resulting colors distinguish units and relationships across the Moon rather than simply showing its familiar bright and dark patches. It is an engaging example of revising earlier mapping without discarding its observations. The accompanying record also explains corrections made in the second edition, making the map useful for discussing cartographic quality control.
